The Penultimate ZR-1
In the next to the last MY for
the ZR-1, the price of the option dropped to $31,258 slightly less than the
previous two years. The option was chosen by 448 owners.
Over 23,000 Corvettes were sold
in MY 1994. Coupes outsold convertibles by more than 3 to 1. Over
6,000 Corvettes were sold with manual transmissions. Leather seats
became standard, run flat tires were an option, passengers now had an airbag and
convertible tops came with a real glass window.

Red was the best selling exterior color followed by Black and then Arctic White.
Copper Metallic and Admiral Blue were the two new colors introduced in MY 1994
appearing on 116 and 1,584 Corvettes respectively. Competition
Yellow only sold slightly better than Copper Metallic...with Code 53 being
selected for 834 Vettes. Quasar Blue Metallic and Ruby Red both
disappeared from the list of exterior colors.
