Ruby, Ruby....
 Chevrolet
had been making Corvettes for 40 years when MY 1993 occurred. The
Special 40th anniversary model was released with "one year only" Ruby Red
exterior and interior colors for an additional $1,445 on coupes or convertibles.
Climbing back into the rarified atmosphere of 400 plus
horsepower, the MY 1993 ZR-1 achieved 405...a level that wasn't reached again
until MY 2002 when the second year of the C5 Z06 model achieved 405 horsepower.
The option cost was held to 1992's
$31,683. Sales exceeded 21,000
Corvettes. Only 448 ZR-1s were sold. Almost half of those were Ruby
Red 40th Anniversary models, RPO Z25.
