More Horsepower, Please
With a modest (12.5%) increase in horsepower after bottoming out in MY 1975,
sales zoomed to 46,558 Corvettes with a base price of $7,604.. The year
marked the last year for the Stingray emblem and the first year in the history
of the Corvette that a roadster wasn't produced; only the coupe was available.
 The
L48 350 c.i. engine produced 180 horsepower as the base engine. The L82
optional engine produced 210 horsepower. Power and performance were on the
rise!
Ten exterior color choices were available: Bright Blue, Dark Brown,
Buckskin, Dark Green, Mahogany, Red, Silver, Classic White, Bright Yellow and
Orange Flame.
