The new millennium was off to a terrific start from our perspective.
On August 30 we picked up our new Electron Blue Z06. We had
attended Carlisle earlier in the month...but without a 'vette. We saw an
Electron Blue Z06 at Kerbeck's tent...'twas the first time we had seen the color
other than a paint chip. ...some trepidation as Katie said she "sorta"
liked the color!
What Katie, the Z06 and I were doing in 2001:
The first event we attended was the annual drag strip event at
75/80 in
mid-September. The last time Danny was at 75/80 was in the early sixties when he
took his automatic 1955 Chevrolet to the strip with a friend who was racing his
1951 Ford. (...or FORD, "fixed or repaired daily" as I knew it.) Danny
raced his '55...with little success.
In late September, we attended Free State Corvette's annual
Ocean City shindig. What a blast...Katie drove our Z06 on the boardwalk along with 600
other 'vettes.
Our last corvette event for the year was CCA's first annual trip to
Skyline
Drive in November.
