In November, the "club" made its first cruise to Skyline Drive
in the fall. Fourteen 'vettes
wended their way through the fallish landscape. At one of the overlooks, a
loner 'vette rounded a curve and was taken aback to see a gaggle (What do
you call a group of corvettes? A squadron?) of corvettes. He quickly recovered to a
broad smile and, natch, a wave.
We finally ending up at Brookside
for lunch. On the way to Brookside (on route 211), Gene led the way in his
'82 yellow 'vette cruising through the curves without braking and at around
55. What a blast...following him down the mountain.
When we arrived, a couple of young kitchen hands were out in back of
the restaurant. Surprised to see one, then two, then three 'vettes.
They were transfixed as 14 'vettes pulled in!
